West Point – Services for Johnnie Herbert Shelton, 76, who died Aug. 2, 2003, were held 2 pm, Aug. 4, 2003, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Partin officiating.

Interment followed in McPherson Cemetery.

Mr. Shelton was a route salesman for Barber Milk Company for 24 years and United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Siloam Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Shelton of West Point; two daughters, Debbie Strange of Vicksburg, Peggy Duke and her husband, Jimmy, both of West Point; one son, Michael Shelton of Pheba; five grandchildren, Stephen Duke of West Point, Jonathan Strange of Oxford, Stefanie Strange of Vicksburg, Salina Shelton of Franklinton, La., Ryan Shelton of Brandon; one sister, Inez Hines of Poloma, Kan., and one brother, Prim Shelton of Platt City, Fla.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Hubert Shelton and Raymond Shelton and two sisters, Claudine Hill and Kathleen Kimbrough.

Pallbearers were Andy Williams, Bud Bowen, Ellis Poss, Cliff Wall, Early Foster and Don Permenter. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Stewart, Joe Fowler, Harold Sanders, Homer Duke, Herb Ingram and Lewis Smith.
