Tanya K. Martin, 27, of Gray, was killed on Dec. 3rd in a tragic automobile accident on Bobby Hicks Hwy 75, within a mile of her home.

She was born in San Diego, Calif., and lived in Wisconsin for eight years before moving with her parents to Tennessee in 1996. Tanya attended Sullivan East and Daniel Boone High School and was currently a student at Northeast State.

She was involved in Earthlink, PETA, Keri Heart Foundation and was employed by Max RAVE in the Johnson City Mall for eleven years.

She was a daughter of Elizabeth Martin, of Gray, and the late William Martin.

She leaves behind her soulmate, Broderick "Boonie" Dean; three beautiful daughters, Aniya, Maliha and Thailana Dean; two sisters, Aisha, of Johnson City, and Erica Jesus, of California; one uncle, Allan Bridges, of Gray; and many family and extended family members of Tennessee and California.

Tanya was a ray of sunshine that affected everyone whether at work or play. She loved to play pranks always, but especially, on April Fool's Day. Her associates and friends at work were the recipient of many of her pranks.

Tanya's viewing hours will be Thursday 12 noon-7 p.m. and Friday 4 p.m.-7 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Gray United Methodist Church.

Tanya had been working on and was such a believer in education that the family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Tanya Martin's Children's Scholarship Fund, ℅ First Tennessee Bank, ATTN: Kathy Nunley, P.O. Box 8037, Gray, TN 37615.
