Ada Heloise Juttelstad, 95, of Volin, devoted wife and mother, passed away Monday, January 05, 2009 at Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2009 at Faith United Lutheran Church rural Volin. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery rural Volin.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, prior to the services on Friday.

Ada H. Anderson was born in Yankton County SD, April 2, 1913, the daughter of Richard and Emma Anderson. Upon graduation from Yankton High School, she entered the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing and received her R.N. degree.

She worked at the State Sanitarium at Hot Springs, SD; and later went to California where she was employed on the nursing staff of both the Lutheran Hospital and the Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles. Returning from California, She joined the nurses' staff at Dakota Hospital in Vermillion where she worked until her marriage.

Ada and Roy Juttelstad were married in a lovely outdoor ceremony at the Anderson farm on June 3, 1939. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, now Faith United. Ada and Roy lived on their farm where she loved feeding the crews, running errands and being Roy's right-hand "man." After Roy's retirement from farming they moved to Gayville.

Ada is survived by son, David and wife, Pam, Cocoa, FL; two grandsons, Eric, Winter Springs, FL, and Mark and wife Tabby, Volin, SD; four grandchildren, Aaron and Matt, Winter Springs, FL, Cody and Lacey, Yankton, SD; one sister, Edna of Edina, MN, also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Roy on Aug. 8, 1986; and by 11 brothers and sisters: Richard, Harvey, Ralph, Orland, Roy, Alice, Bertha, Agnes, Opal, Hazel and Olive.
