Marie Finder, nee Weiskopf, 82, Washington, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington.

She was born October 14, 1919, at Sullivan, the daughter of the late Edward Weiskopf and wife Caroline, nee Schatz.

Mrs. Finder received her education at the Long Ridge Grade School.

On February 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Henry U. Finder at Sullivan.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and St. Bernadette's Ladies' Sodality. Mrs. Finder was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry U. Finder; and six brothers, Al Weiskopf, Everett Weiskopf, Paul Weiskopf, Warren Weiskopf, Walter Weiskopf and Otis Weiskopf.

Mrs. Finder is survived by one daughter, Sheila Marquart and husband Phil; one son, Fr. James Finder, of Holy Cross Parish, Cuba, Mo.; three brothers, Rosvil Weiskopf and wife Mary, Washington, James Weiskopf and wife Dorothy, Lake St. Louis, Wayne Weiskopf and wife Laverne, Washington; three sisters, Lella Eckstein and husband Dodridge, Beaufort, Lucille Brune, Beaufort, Glady Manion, St. Charles; one granddaughter, Tabi Stemmley and husband Doug, Washington; one great-granddaughter, Emma Marie Stemmley, Washington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, October 11, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington. Rev. Robert Heimos, pastor, presided. He was assisted by Rev. James L. Finder and Deacon Rev. Mr. Earl Horstfield of the Holy Cross Parish, Cuba, Mo.

Rev. Dean Nimerichter of Greenfield, Iowa, delivered the homily.

Bishop John R. Gaydos of the Diocese of Jefferson City was present in the sanctuary. Following the Mass, he conducted the rite of commendation.

Other priest concelebrants from the Diocese of Jefferson City and the Archdiocese of St. Louis included Fathers: David Hirtz, Salem; Wayne Boyer, Martinsburg; Mike Murphy, Freeburg; Dennis Zacheis, Krakow; Jack Costello, (St. Francis Borgia) Washington; Rick Stoltz, New Melle; Joe Welschmeyer, Fenton; Brendan Lawless, St. James; Robert Kurwitcki, Westphalia; Richard Frank, Bowling Green; Donald Antweiler, Monroe City; Patrick Dowling, Chamois; Patrick G. Dolan of Immaculate Conception Parish, Jefferson City; and Gregory Meystrik, Loose Creek.

The Parish Resurrection Choir provided music for the Mass.

Interment was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington.

Memorials to Holy Cross Parish, Cuba, Mo., or Masses are preferred.

The Finder family was served by Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
