VAUGHAN-COBLE WEDDING MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL PART OF SERVICE

A beautiful part of the marriage ceremony for Miss Doris Vaughan and P. Gilmer Coble who take their vows at 8 o'clock tonight at Grace Methodist church from the bride's cousin, Rev. W. Carlton Wlson, of Rowland, will be the nuptial music by Mrs. Ralph Hodgkin, organist, Mrs. Edward O.F. Pratt, violinist, Miss Novella Murray, soprano, and David Witherspoon, tenor.

Violin and organ will open the prelude music with "The Swan," after which Miss Murray, student at Duke university and a cousin of the bride, will sing "O Promise Me" and "Until." The organ with "Liebestraum" will preface Mr. Witherspoon's solos, "I Love Thee" (Grieg) and "Because." Mrs. Hodgkin will sound the traditional "Lohengrin" music as processional and during the ceremony will be joined by the violin for DeBussy's "Clair de Lune." As a benediction to end the ceremony Mr. Witherspoon will sing the marriage hymn, "O Perfect Love."

After the ceremony the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Talmadge Vaughan, will receive at Jefferson Country club for all the wedding guests. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coble, parents of the bridegroom, will be in line with the hosts and wedding party. Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Moury will welcome guests, Mr. and Mrs. John Wharton will introduce them to the receiving line and Mrs. J.E. Britton, Jr., will register them.

At the table Mrs. W.H. Mallard, of Savannah, Ga., and Miss Eula Wilson, of Concord, will pour punch and be assisted by Miss Kitty Wilson, of Warrenton, student at Woman's college, Mrs. W. Kell Gay, Misses Mitzi Sewell, Anna Applewhite, Marion Morrison and Margaret Nichols. Goodbys will be spoken to Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Stanley, of Durham, and Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Wilson of Rocky Mount.

Last evening Miss Mary Coble of Leaksville, and Miss Mildred Coble of Gates, sisters of the bridegroom, entertained at a cake cutting at the Coble home on the Tabernacle road. When the bride started to cut the lovely three-tiered wedding cake, which was showered with white ribbons holding the favors and topped by a silver bell over a miniature bridal couple, the hostesses presented to her a silver cake knife in her wedding pattern, their gift to her.
