Death of Mr. Hoyt's Father
Mr. S. Grant Hoyt's father, who was buried at 1 p.m. Saturday from the home at Grand View, lacked only a few days of being 85 years of age. He was born September 28, 1813, at Warwick, Osage county, N.Y. He was a cabinet maker, and for years worked in New York City. Back in the 40's he worked in Buffalo, doing the finer work on the boats that ran on the lake. He was in New York City as early as '31, when Canal street was away up town. His father was born in New Milford, Conn. Mr. Grant Hoyt's father attended the memorable Hoyt reunion held in 1868.

The father came here about a month ago from Chicago, where he visited a daughter, to spend the summer here. He was quite bright when he first arrived, but had been gradually sinking with Bright's disease.

The funeral was largely attended. Rev. Evatt conducted the services.
