Peggy Jo Howard, 73, of Windsor, Missouri, died April 30, 2009, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

She was born September 26, 1935, in Humansville, Mo., the daughter of Fred and Lucy (Hammons) Bigler. Peggy was the youngest of 12 children. Peggy graduated from Calhoun High School in 1954. On April 2, 1960, at the Christian Church in Calhoun, Mo., she married Bobby D. Howard, who survives of the home. Bobby and Peggy were married 49 years.

Peggy worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory for most of her working career. She was a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church. Peggy was a devoted wife, beloved and proud mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Bobby, survivors include a son, Darrell Howard, Windsor, Mo.; 2 daughters, Debbie Woirhaye and her husband Brian, Warrensburg, Mo.; Cheryl Hayes and her husband Chad, Windsor, Mo.; 6 granddaughters, Kelly; Nicole; Danielle; Mattea; Delaney and Baylee; 4 sisters, Harriett Knifong, Clinton, Mo.; Juanita Cox, Raytown, Mo.; Julia Bigler, Clinton, Mo.; Mildred Hager, Wellington, Mo.; 2 brothers, Raymond Bigler, Deepwater, Mo.; Henry Bigler, Clinton, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Pauline Bartholomew, Opal Sartin, Hazel Bigler; 2 brothers, Russell Bigler and Howard Bigler.

Peggy's kind and affectionate demeanor will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 4, 10:30 a.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Margie Briggs officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Calhoun United Methodist Church and contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.
