Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Vivian Kidder Benoit, age 90, the former Vivian Kidder, who left her loving family and friends on Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.

Interment was in St. Peter Catholic Mausoleum in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, officiated at the services. Readers were Chrissy Pelatan & Ronnie Begnaud.

Music was provided by Julie Broussard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs were Hail Mary, Gentle Woman, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art and On Eagles Wings.

Vivian was such a special person, so loving and kind and helped so many people. So strong, she battled through many surgeries. She left us peacefully and will be dearly missed by all of us. Vivian will always be in our heart. Rest in Peace Precious Lady.

She is survived by her one and only son, Daniel Joseph Benoit, a very special friend and caregiver Chrissy Pelatan, and many family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nelson Benoit.

Pallbearers were Dalbert Bernard, T.J. Bernard, Ray Bernard, Johney Kidder, Leewood Begnaud and Jackie Miller. Honorary pallbearer was Jimmie Miller.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue was in charge of arrangements. Our Sweetheart is gone, but not forgotten.
