By order of the Governor, he was transferred to the Vermont State Hospital at Waterbury on 12 October 1925. On the evening of 30 January 1927, Loren Watts STANLEY literally went over the wall.
In 1933, Loren Watts STANLEY showed up in Clermont County, Ohio, and was known until his death as Warren WELLINGTON.
