Mahalia, Mahaley or Mahala Howell Grubbs was the wife of Allen Nabors Grubbs. They had nine children. Mahalia joined the Methodist church in early life; she later joined the Baptist church after marrying Allen. She was one of the founding members of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Corners, Alabama in the northwest corner of present day Jefferson County, near Warrior Alabama. Listed on the church rolls in September 1, 1887 are the following Grubbs:
