TROSPER
Hugh Gilbert Trosper was born at Lacy, Oklahoma in 1892, the son of George M. and Carolyn Pierce Trosper, who came from Kansas into Oklahoma in the Cheyenne-Arapahoe opening. He grew up on the Trosper homestead, 2 miles east and one north of Kiel, (now Loyal) Oklahoma. He attended school at Oneida School and later farmed with his father. Hugh ran the last Livery stable in Kiel and sold it in 1921 when people began to buy automobiles to replace the horses he kept in his stable. He then took up farming again and during World War ll he sold out and began employment as a seismographer by Stanolind Oil and Gas Co. in the exploration fields in Mississippi, Wyoming and Oklahoma. It was while he was working near Anadarko, Oklahoma that he suffered the first of two heart attacks that proved fatal in 1952.
Hugh married Rella Mae Weimer on June 24, 1914 at Kiel, Oklahoma.
