VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Minnie Hurst Saunders, 88, the widow of Clarence Anderson Saunders and a daughter of Sam and Mrs. Mary Dawson Hurst, died in a hospital Wednesday at 7:45 a.m.
A native of Pulaski, she lived in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area 50 years, lately at 789 Crepe Myrtle Lane, Aragona Village.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and its Extension Department.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Winnie O. Bruce of Virginia Beach; a son, Hensel C. Owen of Buffalo, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Beulah B. Turner of Baltimore, Mrs. Flora Barnard of Rockwood, Tenn., Mrs. Bessie Richard of Radford, and Mrs. Mary King of Newbern, Va.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk, Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Arnold Blount, pastor emeritus of Kempsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the daughter's home, 103 Wagner St., Virginia Beach.
