David Herring is the son of Bethuel(1751-1829) and Mary Miller (marr 1782 died 1800) Herring.
David moved to Silver Creek, Randolph Co. MO after the 1830 census in Virginia and bef. 1832 when son John was born in MO. His two sisters, Nancy (b 1787 m. James G Davis) and Mary (b. 1794 m. Samuel C. Davis) also moved to Silver Creek MO.
David's farm was next to his father's in Rockingham Co. VA. in the 1820 census.
