Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday at Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Don Lloyd, Rev. Dale Hilton, and Dr. Al Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Born September 1, 1907 she was the daughter of the late Calvin Luther and Ellen Druzilla Michael. She was also preceded in death by her husband Kemp C. Whicker, a daughter Nancy Whicker Foust, a son Donald E. Whicker, a son-in-law Carl "Bud" Campbell, and nine siblings.
She was a graduate of Tyro High School. She was retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System where she served as Managing Dietician for Kernersville High School, East Forsyth High School, and Parkland High School.
She was an active member of Circle 3 of the United Methodist Women and she had received their Life Membership Pen. She was also recognized by the United Methodist Men for her distinguished service to their organization. She was a member of the Boyd Stafford Sunday School Class of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Heritage Club. She was a volunteer at the Shepherd's Center as long as her health permitted.
