Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church for David Crumpler, 58, of Stoney Creek township, who died unexpectedly Sunday evening of a cerebral hemorrhage while sitting in an automobile watching a fox hunt near Peacocks Mill, north of Pikeville.
The Rev. Clifton Rice of Kinston conducted the rites. Interment was in the family cemetery.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Thomas Crumpler of Snow Hill and Waitus Crumpler of Pikeville; six daughters, Mrs. Jodie McKeel of Pikeville, Mrs. Freeman Coley of Mount Olive, Mrs. Gene Biscoutine of Old Fort, Pa., Mrs. James Wade and Mildred Crumpler, both of Goldsboro, and Mrs. Harlee Jones of Swansboro; one brother, Oscar Crumpler of Swansboro; and 20 grandchildren.
