Joseph "Joe" Brennan, who retired from the Navy, University of Texas at Arlington and the Postal Service, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Grand Prairie. Interment: 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Viewing 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7. Mr. Brennan was born in Ayrshire, Iowa, on Sept. 9, 1929, and retired in Grand Prairie. He was in the Navy from 8-4-1948 to 6-30-1976. Joe was a 4th degree Knight (Knights of Columbus), and a member of the Arlington Elks Lodge 2114. He loved family and friends and was cherished by all who were blessed to have known him. His Irish sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta; son, Patrick; grandchildren, Brandon, Amy and Bree; and sister, Jean Hagenbucher. Survivors: Children, James, Joseph, Mary Lawhorn, Martha Howard, Monica Lindeman, Maureen Land, Maretta Chokas and Michelle Stoker; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Ann Wright and Carol O'Brian.
