Albert Sidney Hill Sr. passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010, in Kerrville, TX at the age of 85. He was born to Jessie Mae Davis on August 29, 1925, in Coy City, TX.

Albert grew up in Boerne and moved back after his military service ended. He joined the Merchant Marines when he was 16. After several years, he transferred to the US Army where he was eventually promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had tours in Japan and Korea. He worked for Greyhound Bus Line as a Diesel Mechanic for 20 plus years. He loved gardening and passed that on to his sons. Albert had a bird farm in Bergheim where he raised turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, and quail. One of his proudest moments was when he supplied quail for one of Former President George Bush Sr.'s hunting expeditions. Albert loved the Lord and his family.

Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his mother and father Jessie and Wesley Davis and his daughter Francis Hill. Albert is survived by his daughter Margie Brown and her husband Larry of Sonora, CA; his sons Albert S. Hill Jr. of Oakland, CA, Marvin R. Hill and Mercy of Milpitas, CA, Lindon M. Hill of Sonora, CA, and Kelvin T. Hill of San Francisco, CA; and his 5 grandchildren. He was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010, from 5-7 PM at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 2 PM at the Boerne Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in California at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 611 Harper Road, Kerrville, TX 78028-2912.
