In Memory of Mrs. Lurene Bell
The Lord has seen fit to take from our midst Mrs. Lurene Bell. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Barber, and was the first to break the family circle.
She was born March 25, 1897. She leaves a husband, Horace Bell, and a little daughter, Myrtle, only four years old, besides a father, mother, three sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss.
Her little girl now lives with her aunt, Mrs. Bessie Hill. 'Tis so sad to think of one so young losing the best friend it has. But how often is this true. But God in His infinite wisdom, knows and does all things well.
Lurene joined the Methodist Church when eleven years old and it been a pleasure to her to do what she could for those in need.
'Tis so sad to think of one so young being called away, but God knows best. the young die as well as the old. We know not what hour our Lord will call, so we must be ready at all times.
Her dying should make Heaven nearer and dearer to us, because it has another angel to make it happier. Let us do more for the cause of God and help to win souls for Him, so when we are called before God in judgment, he will say, "Well don, thou good and faithful servant, come up higher." These will be such sweet words, but should they be otherwise, oh, how sad.
Mother has taken her flight
To regions where cometh no night;
Where joy and happiness reign.
And everything is supreme
Her duties of life are o'er -
She is resting on the other shore
With loved ones in white array.
Waiting for the judgment day.
May we live a life so true
That we may go there, too.
And God's glory share
With mother and the angels fair.
A friend, Lilla Mae
