Truett was born on September 23, 1906. Her whole name was Velma Clementine Emily Ezra Hickgann Zonor Truett McClintock Sharp. She said that her siblings all got to help name her. She was the youngest of the girls. She married Joe Sharp in 1926. They had one daughter, June. Both her husband & daughter preceded her in death.

She was honored on her 100th birthday with a party at Hamilton Healthcare in Hamilton, TX on September 23, 2006. They displayed old McClintock family photos for the party. Many of her nieces and nephews attended.
