Ida Idell Boatright, age 90, of Alma passed away Thursday, December 2nd at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Mage Crosby and Minnie Boatright Crosby. Her husband, William B. Boatright, two daughters, Minnie Boatright and Dorothy B. Foskey, son-in-law, Kelly Sweat, four brothers, Dick, Pete, Dewitt & Gene Crosby, three sisters, Venell Crosby, Irene Turner and Pearl Koza preceded her in death. She was member of Alma United Methodist Church and United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, (Bootsie) Major T. Boatright (Juanita) of Blackshear, Ray Boatright (Glenda), Billy Boatright (Wanda), James D. (Super) Boatright of all of Alma, three daughters, Doretha Taylor (Hobert), JoAnn Sweat and Patricia White (Ray) all of Alma, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; also many nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 5th, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Pet Hayes and Rev. Tony Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 PM.
Active Pallbearers will be: The Grandsons. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
