Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. Tallie Ann Durham, 81, of Route 2, Athens, who died Friday afternoon in an Athens hospital after a brief illness.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Fred Smith and the Rev. Olen Cantrell at the Murchison Methodist Church and burial was in Red Hill Cemetery, Hassell and Foster in charge.
Pallbearers were Conley Scott, Woodrow Walker, Lloyd Hood, A.C. Horton, B.M. Killingsworth Jr. and Thomas Brown.
She was born in New Brockton, Alabama, March 15, 1879, and had lived at Murchison for the past 12 years before moving to the Baxter community only four months ago. She was a member of the Cottonwood Methodist Church.
Mrs. Durham is survived by four sons, Bob Durham of Athens and Tull, Oran and Roy Durham, all of California; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Broyles of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mrs. Daisy Edgar of Visalia, California; a brother, George Ballard of Wingate, and 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
