Solomon Seabolt was a son of Johann 'John Conrad Seabolt , a well known Indian trader and Sarah Elizabeth Seabolt., who was of Cherokee heritage.Sarah Elizabeth , was her Christian given name. She died and is buried at Rattlesnake Gap ,Seabolt Creek, Georgia. Solomon was Pennsylvania Dutch and of a German speaking family. He was Husband of Catherine Stophel Flowers and together they brought twelve known children into the world. Solomon was a farmer of rich and fertile soils, growing crops and vineyards. He also was a keg maker, called 'Coopers" , a trade that was passed down from his German ancestors. He made his home in Blood Mountain Georgia. Their children were John Wesley, Henry Washington, Francis Lafayette, James Harrison, Martha, Andrew, Pernecy Elizabeth, Wilson Celley, Elisha, Thomas, Elijah, and Mary A. J. Seabolt.
Solomon and his wife Catherine are supposedly listed on the burial register for Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, Union, Georgia. The graves are marked only by native stones as was a common method of burial for the Cherokee--marked at the head and foot of the graves to prevent settlers from robbing the graves for artifacts . These were harder to locate than traditional stacked stone burial mounds of earlier Cherokee burials. This later custom was carried over after burials were done in church cemeteries , as were Solomon and Catherine.
