Allmand Rites Set at Tuscola
Ovalo, Feb. 19, - Thomas Walter Allmand, 65, died of cancer at 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the Veterans Hospital at McKinney. He had been a patient at the hospital for several months.
Mr. Allmand was born Oct. 14, 1891, in Albert, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Allmand. He married Ida Singleton on Jan. 2, 1924 in Austin. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Tuscola Church of Christ, where he was a member. Eugene Henderson of Tuscola will officiate, assisted by David Arnold of Springtown, former minister of The Tuscola Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene under the direction of Fry Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Survivors include his wife: one son, Vernon Allmand, of 2012 Orange St., Abilene: three brothers, Jimmy of 1901 Matador St., Abilene, C.W. of Ovalo and Henry of Melrose, N.M.: and three sisters, Mrs. Bulah Johnson of Blanco, Mrs. Margaret Everet of San Antonio, and Mrs. E. R. Hagins of 1150 Poplar St., Abilene.
Nephews will be pallbearers. They are Cecil, Floyd and Gene Allmand, Ollie Bates, Elmer DeVille, Raymond Singleton and Calvin Allmand.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Floyd Parish, John Dodson, Wade Strother, Hudie Lackey, Carl Bothan and Homer Landers.
