Dorothy (Devendorf) Alstrom, 99, formerly of 1579 Longmeadow St., died Tuesday in a local nursing home.

Born in Queen Anne Parsonage, Fort Hunter, N.Y., she moved to Springfield in 1902. She was graduated from the former Miss Porter's School in Springfield and also from Mount Ida College in Newton. She was a resident of Longmeadow for 64 years.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Longmeadow. She was also a member of the Arts Club, the Longmeadow Women's Club, the Longmeadow Historical Society, and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

She was a former member of the Longmeadow Maternal Society and a a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Her husband, Harvey S. Alstrom, died in 1985. She leaves a son, Robert S. of Florence, S.C.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be thismorning in the church with burial in Longmeadow Cemetery . There are no calling hours. Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
