Poet and novelist. Born Theodor Christoph August von Kobbe, he was a noted author of the 19th century. His works included, ‘The Student’s Mortal Pilgrimage’ (1820); ‘The Swedes in the Convent at Utersen’ (1830); the romance; ‘Humorous Sketches and Pictures’ (1831); ‘Recent Tales’ (2 vols., 1833); ‘Humorous Reminiscences of my College Days’ (2 vols., 1840); and ‘Comicalities from Philistine Life’ (1841).
