Actress. Appeared on stage, in motion pictures, and on television from the 1940s to the 1960s. A familiar character actress, she appeared in a large number of classic TV series, including "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Beverly Hillbillies," and "Green Acres." Also a chilling villainess of the Walt Disney canon, Eleanor's distinctive voice lent withering evil to Maleficent in "Sleeping Beauty" and the Stepmother in "Cinderella.
