Francis P. "Fritz" LaRoque, 70, Bagley Police Chief died Sunday, September 2, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Funeral services were held Wednesdday, September 5, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley with Pstor Milan C. Davig officiating. Burial took place in the family plot at teh Bagley City Cemetery.
Mr. LaRoque was born August 9, 1909 in Ogema, Minnesota to parents Paul and Margaret LaRoque. He moved to Beaulieau in 1912 and moved to Roy Lake in 1923. In 1943 he moved to Bagley. Fritz was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Mr. LaRoque was employed in teh trucking industry until he joined the Bagley Police Department in 1964. For the past 12 years he has served as Police Chief. Fritze was a member of the Pine Cone Peace Officers Assocation and the Chippewa Tribe.
He married Harriet Wraa on June 30, 1934 at Roy Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet; two daughters: Mrs. Bill (Edna) McKinley of Great Falls, Montana, Mrs. Bernie (Charlotte) Stavig of Bagley; Two sons: Francis P. LaRoque Jr. of Forest Lake and Dale of Grand Rapids; three sisters: Lilia Patton of Seattle Washington; Geraldine Sundell of Minneapolis; Alvira Fransen of Cambridge; three brothers: Rolland of Flint, Michigan; Jim and Ray of Minneapolis; 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson and seven brothers and sisters.
Arrangements were with teh Cease Funeral HOme of Bagley.
