Anthony A. Vengelist, 73, of 1003 Buckley Road, Liverpool, died Sept. 26 in Maddaleone, Italy, while vacationing. Mr. Vengelist was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was an agent with Metropolitan Insurance Co. for 20 years. He was also a musician with the Lou DeSantis Orchestra for many years and was a member of the musicians union. He was a member of Salina Senior Citizens. Surviving are his wife, Rose DeSantis Vangelist; three daughters, Maryann White of Massachusetts, Margaret Hoffman of New Jersey, and Toni Lynn Kleist of Phoenix; a brother, Pat Evangelista of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Lena Alexander of Liverpool; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Linda Faulkner, who died in 1980. Services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home. A mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Garden Mausoleum. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, 514 Turtle St.
