Stella Hagen 1893-1979

Stella Hagen, 85, passed away at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital in Bagley on Saturday, August 18. Mrs. Hagen was born in Fosston October 28, 1893 to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Berg. The family moved to Nora Township when Mrs. Hagen was a youngster. She was married to Otto Hagen in Grand Forks in 1913, and they continued to live in the Nora Township area. During World War II, they lived in Seattle, Washington, returning to Bagley after the war. Mr. Hagen died August 16, 1958. Mrs. Hagen worked in the Markum Hotel in Bemidji for twelve years then returned to Bagley. The last years she has lived at the Parkview Apartments and Greensview Nursing Home in Bagley.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie, Mrs. Ralph Abraham of Bagley; one granddaughter, Carolyn, Mrs. Donald Vorderbruggen of Bagley, and three great grandsons, Rick, Danny and Mark Vorderbruggen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 21, at the Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Bagley. Rev. Garry Briesacher officiated with burial in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.
