Singer, Songwriter and Record Producer. Born as Johnny Hendry Blair in Ochitree, Scotland. He took the Cymbal surname from his mother's second husband which adopted him at an early age. Johnny's musical career began around age 15 and has over 200 published songs many of which have been recorded by Elvis Presley, Eddy Arnold, Ed Ames, Jan and Dean, The Partridge Family, David Cassidy, David Frizzell, Frankie Ford, Tompall and the Glasers, and Glen Campbell. His signature song "Mr. Bass Man" hit the number one spot on all music charts around the world. His other successful songs are "Rock Me Baby", "Cinnamon", "Teenager Heaven", "Mary In The Morning" and many others. He recorded for record lables MGM, Capital, Kapp, DCP, Chelsea, Columbia and Amaret. (Bio by J.D. McConnell)
