Ronnie Earl Painter, 55, of Grottoes, passed away Thursday morning, December 2, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 3, 1955, in Waynesboro, son of the late Homer Parker and Annie Sprouse Painter.
Ronnie was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local #10, which he was very dedicated to for 30 years.
He enjoyed cooking for his family, always trying new recipes. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was a very loving husband that always took care of his family first.
He was a man that could fix or build just about anything. Ronnie will be sadly missed by everyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.
Survivors include his wife and soul mate of 27 years, Susan Painter; three daughters, Jennifer Irvine and her husband, Carl Irvine, lll of Waynesboro, Jodi Painter of Staunton and Amanda Shiflet and her husband, John of Grottoes; three grandchildren, Gabriel and Nickolas Irvine and Parker Shiflet; five brothers and sisters; and a loving mother-in-law, Dorothy Breeden who was always like a mother to him.
A service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street, with Pastor Matt Coiner officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery at Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the funeral home.
