J. W. grew up and attended school at Prairie View. Mr. Peters worked as a farmer and in 1947 went to work for Kerr-McGee in 1947 gauging tanks and retired in 1992 as a shift supervisor. After retiring, J. W. went to auctions and would re-handle hammers, shovels, and rakes. He also enjoyed working with antique tools and made custom cabinets. J. W. built his first home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma . With a wide array of skills, J. W. assisted with the building of the Beaty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a 32nd degree mason with the Wynnewood Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting antique implement tools. The highlights of his life were his family, grandkids and his church.
