Alfred Anderson, lovingly known as "Stubbs" to his many friends he had in Franconia, passed away in death Dec 6 at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 5 days.

He was the son of Swedish pioneers Olof and Hanna Anderson and spent almost his entire life in the beautiful part of Chisago County which his parents did so much in settling and improving.

Alfred Anderson was born in Sweden, Aug 31, 1877 and came to this country with his parents at the age of twelve years. His parents settled at Franconia, where he attended school. He was confirmed in the Taylors Falls Swedish Lutheran Church.

In adulthood, he fell in love with and married, Bertha Phelps on January 10, 1917.

Known throughout the years as "Stubbs", Anderson, he was an exceedingly well-liked citizen and did his excellent best in the services he gave his life to.

He is survived by a daughter, namely, (Dorothy) Mrs. Jone Leninehan of Superior, 1 grandson and three brothers, John of Lindstrom, Charles of St. Paul and Frank of Maple Plain. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Haraldson of Excelsior.

Very recently, Mr. Anderson was taken seriously ill at Fairhaven Rest Home near North Branch where the irrevocable summons brought the peace of the final sleep to him.

The services were held at the Grandstrand Funeral Home at Center City, with the Rev. Milton Haker officiating. Mrs. Vitalis sang several beautiful messages in song and Paul Bloom presided at the organ.

Alfred Anderson was laid to his final rest in the beautiful cemetery at Franconia, the sacred ground in which sleeps many pioneers.
