Dies Saturday
Clarence P. Cox, 59, a resident and businessman of Enderlin for 22 years, died unexpectedly Saturday night of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Methodist church in Enderlin. Rev. Otto Kinzler will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Grand Forks, N.Dak. (This must be in error as Clarence was buried in Enderlin City Cemetery, Enderlin, N. Dak)
Clarence Parker Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Cox was born in Milton, N. Dak. Nov. 20, 1899. When still a small boy he moved with his parents to Walhalla, here he received his schooling and grew to manhood
In 1920, he went to Granville, N. Dak., where he managed the Granville Produce. While in that city, he married Myrtice Hookway. Two daughters were born to them, Mrs. James (Marie) Olson, of Dickinson, and Mrs. Dennis (Elaine) Lutness of Milwaukee, Wis.
In 1937, he moved to Enderlin, where he has owned and operated Cox's Market until his death.
Besides his daughters, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Cox: three sisters, Mrs. Cy (Dorothy) Cox and Mrs. George (Beulah) Cox, all of Grand Forks; Mrs. Maurice (Florence) Baudoin, Aberdeen, S. Dak.; three brothers, George, of Enderlin; Charlie, Grand Forks; and Murray, of Calvin. He has five grandchildren. His father, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Cox was a member of the Methodist church of Walhalla, the Masonic Lodge in Grandville, the Kem Temple of Grand Forks, the Disabled American Veterans in Fargo, the American Legion and Kiwanis Club in Enderlin and the Elks Lodge of Minot.
Organist at the services will be Mrs. Elwood Anderson. Vocalists will be Mrs. William Ganz, Mrs. Jerry Schons, Mrs. Orville Powers and Mrs. Orvis Johnson.
Pallbearers at the funeral will be R.C. Petterson, Ray Fritz, Lloyd Sorenson, Kermit Kaspari, Paul Smith, George DeFehr.
