Funeral services for Ms. Ora Lee Anderson, 90, of Liberty, were held Friday, January 26, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Love-Cantrell Chapel in Smithville. Bro. Jessie Garner, Bro. Leonard Herman, and Bro. Dallas Braswell officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Ms. Anderson died Wednesday, January 24, 2001, at NHC Health Care Center in Smithville. She was a home-maker and a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by: her parents, James Thomas and Nola Ann Sauls Hale; two husbands, John D. Melton and Edgar Anderson; and one son, Charles H. Anderson. Survivors of Ms. Anderson include: three daughters, Irene Roberts of Donelson, Billie Bing of Smithville, and Fay Armstrong of Woodbury; two sons, Clifton Melton of Gassaway and E.L. Anderson of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Howard Hale of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for Ms. Anderson were Stanton Melton, Dallas Braswell, Jack Armstrong, Eddie Anderson, Shane Walker, Gaylon Sissom, and Daniel Goodrich.
