Mrs. Gilbert Pleasants' people came from Alabama, though she herself was born in Texas, and her father was Dr. Mat Moore, a prominent citizen and physician of his day. The Moore family belonged to old colonial stock, which had long been prominent in the south. Mrs. Pleasants now resides in her own home at Richmond, and of her two children, the daughter died in infancy, so that Robert G. is the only representative of his generation.
