James Arms
New Point - James Arms, 76, a retired waterman, died late Saturday at his home after a long illness.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys Hudgins Arms of New Point; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Jacobsen of Billerica, MA and Mrs. Betty Maynard of Newport News; a son, Nelson Arms of Philadelphia; five sisters, Mrs. Gertie Coleman, Mrs. Virgie Osborne, Mrs. Florence Coleman and Mrs. Augusta Coleman all of Buchanan and Mrs. Alice Jackson of Centerbury, OH; two brothers, Howard Arms and Doc Arms, both of Buchanan; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3pm Monday in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, by the Rev. Otis Worley and the Rev. John Johnson.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Susan.
