rank Meredith (Scroochie) Felts, 87, of Chuckey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his residence early Monday morning, August 30, 2010, following a brief illness.

He was born on December 6, 1922, in Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of the late James Felts and Sallie Lowery Felts. He was employed for 32 years by Eastman Kodak Company, and lived most of his life in Fall Branch, Tennessee.

He accepted his Lord at a little Baptist church in Jonesborough, Tennessee. He loved his Lord, and did many kind deeds for the needy, especially children. He did these kind acts and never spoke about them. He will be most remembered by his family, co-workers, and friends for his humor and kind acts of love. He loved to make people smile and laugh. He was a very precious husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be sadly missed. His children and grandchildren have many fond memories from the stories he told and the songs he sang as he rocked them and spoiled them with his collection of candy.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Blanche Felts; son, Jerry Felts; granddaughter, Tammy McNew; brothers, Jess, Jim, and George Felts; sisters, Mae Godsey, Edith Feathers, Thelma Hawkins, and Grace Balentine preceded him in death.
