Mrs. Forshaw was the daughter of Frederick Niesen, a major developer of the Richmond Heights area of St. Louis in the late 1800s and an early promoter of the establishment of Forest Park. Paula told her family that she should be remembered for one thing: that at age 12, she became the first woman in St. Louis County to drive her own car, a Stanley Steamer.
