Carol A. Gardenour, 60, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne.
Born in South Bend, IN, she was an Insurance Clerk for 28 years with Dr. Shelby Cooper and also at Lutheran Hospital since 2005. She was a 1965 graduate of Arlington High School in Indianapolis, IN, received her Associate Degree from International Business College in 1967, and was a past president of Sigma PHI Gamma.
She loved being with her family and grandson and enjoyed singing with the church choir and Fort Wayne Festival Choir. She was a member of Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include sons Matthew (Amanda) Gardenour of Spencerville, IN, Brian Gardenour of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kris Gardenour of Fort Wayne; grandson, Brayden Gardenour; mother, Anabelle Becker; sister, Sue Lester; sister-in-law, Kay Strater all of Fort Wayne; father-in-law, Robert Gardenour of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Gardenour; father, Gilbert Becker and mother-in-law, Wanda Eme. Service is 10 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Pastor John Long officiating. Calling 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Cancer Society of Northeast Indiana or to the family.
