Billey G. Cockrum was born at Custer, Ark., where he spent his early years and was educated. He was employed in construction work and in a Shoe Repair shop for five years and was also manager of a Shoe Store in Yellville, Ark. in 1951 he, with his family came west, settling at Grandview where he began his long employment with the J.A. Jones Construction Company on the Hanford Project. He was presently a foreman for the company.
He was a 30 year member of the Laborers Local No. 348 of Pasco, a past member of the Eagles Lodge, having served as Past Vice President of the Eagles Lodge of Prosser.
He was preceded in death by his father. Peter Cockrum, who died December 10, 1965, and by a son Claude R. Cockrum, who died October 13, 1968. He was an early member of the Curch of the Nazarene.
