Mrs. Amy Ray, 91 years of age.
who had been an invalid for
many years, died at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Ellen Bockover
on South Main street. Death
was due to complications incident
to her advanced age. About
a week ago Mrs. Ray suffered an
attack which the attending physician
stated would likely terminate
in her death, and for the
past several days she had been
in a state of coma.
Following the death, the body
was removed to the Young mortuary
to prepare it for burial.
Funeral services are to be held
at the home Thursday afternoon
and burial will take place in the
Sharpsville cemetery beside the
husband William Amos Ray,
whose death occurred in 1919.
Amy J. Ray was born in Decatur
county, a daughter of David
and Elizabeth Trullender and
was married in that county to
William Amos Ray, Immediately
on his return fom the Civil war,
where he served with Company
E, of the 123 Indiana Volunteer
regiment.
Three children were born to
this union, Elizabeth, wife of
William C. Schombers of Sharpsville;
Ellen, who was the first
wife of Walter L. Bockover of
Tipton: and Albert, who married
Miss Mary Ryn of Clarksburg.
