FORMER COUNTY REGISTER WOLF DEAD

Was Well Known Middlesex Township Farmer

Former County Register and Recorder of Wills Joseph Wolf, one of the best known citizens of the county died at his home in Middlesex township, Sunday morning, aged 77 years. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Wolf was a successful farmer of Middlesex township where he resided many years with the exception of a few years in Carlisle. He was a prominent democrat and in 1906 was elected Register of Cumberland county (sic) serving his term of three years. He resided in Carlisle subsequently for a time and again moved to the country. For some years he was a very successful agent for a Nursery company. Mr. Wolf was for many years a prominent and active member of the Reformed church (sic) of Carlisle Springs, a man of integrity and usefulness, a devoted husband and father and a good citizen.

Mr. Wolf was not only an excellent farmer but a successful grower of fruit, specializing in apples and peaches. He was popular wherever known and by his genial and jovial disposition made many friends. Mr. Wolf is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Charles Jacobs, A.P. Wolf, Mrs. Charles Burgett, and Mrs. Addison Burgett, of Carlisle Springs; Rev. D.J. Wolf of Appollo, Pa.; Mrs. Levi Mountz, Norts (sic) Middleton; Herman, of Akron, O., formerly of Carlisle, and Joseph A., of Lancaster.

Mrs. Margaret (sic) Duey, of Nebraska is his sister and William Wolf of Missouri, his brother. Funeral services will be held from his late home at ten o'clock Thursday morning with interment at Carlisle Springs. Friends and relatives will attend without further notice.

NOTE: It should read "Mrs. Martha Duey of Nebraska", not Mrs. Margaret Duey.

WOLF FUNERAL THURSDAY

Rev. C.P. Kehl and Rev. Ira F. Brame officiated at the funeral of Joseph Wolf, which was held at his late residence in Middlesex township Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Son and sons-in-law of the deceased were pallbearers and interment was made at the Carlisle Springs Cemetery.
