Keg owner loved outdoors and time with his family.
John R. Conticelli, Shenango Township, passed away unexpectedly, Monday morning, Nov., 29, 2010, at his home. He was 56.
Mr. Conticelli was born March 16, 1954, in Sharon, a son of Joseph and Irene Schultz Conticelli.
A lifelong area resident, he was a 1972 graduate of Hickory High School.
John owned and operated The Keg on East State Street at the Sharon-Hermitage border for the past 33 years.
He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, where he was formerly a Eucharistic minister and also served on parish council.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286 and the Italian home, both Farrell; and American Legion Post 432, Wheatland.
John loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, boating and spending time at his camp in West Hickory.
His greatest joy, however, was the times he shared with his family, particularly with its newest member, his grandson Johnny.
John will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. May he rest in peace.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Karen Krueger, whome he married Aug. 21, 1982, in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage; two sons, Joseph C. Conticelli and his fiance' Ashley McGinnis, Shippenville, PA; and John T. Conticelli and his fiance' Michelle Bugher, Brunswick, OH; a grandson, John C. Conticelli; a sister, Jacqueline Conticelli; and an uncle Elio Conticelli and his wife Mary Ellen, Shenango Township.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Rose(Stea)Conticelli and Walter and Helen (Sartorski) Schultz.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, 1233 Idaho St., Farrell 16121; or to cancer research. [the herald)
