A Grant township pioneer, 77-year-old Ida M. Fleming, died at her home in Dinsdale at 5 p. m Wednesday. She had been an invalid many years and had been bedfast three years of complications of age. Ida was a daughter of James C. and Rachel Fleming, early settlers of Grant township. She was born on the Fleming homestead, south of Dinsdale, May 14, 1875. She remained at home with her parents as long as they lived, and for the last 37 years had lived in Dinsdale with her sister, Martha, the village postmaster. She leaves three other sisters Mrs. Thomas Dinsdale, of Traer, Mrs. Cloyd Frey, Reinbeck, and Mrs. Rae Saunders, of Waterloo, and a brother, Lester, of Traer. Two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Wood and Mrs. Tillie Strohbehn, and two brothers. James and Wilson Fleming preceded her in death.
Funeral services are to be held at States Funeral Home in Traer at, 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, to be conducted by the Rev Carl Bast, Congregational pastor Mrs. Gerald Norby will sing, accompanied at the piano by ruth Thomas. Pallbearers will be nephews of Miss Fleming – Marvin and Floyd Dinsdale, Clark Fleming, James Wood, Leigh Strohbehn, and Kenneth Frey. . Mrs. Floyd Dinsdale and Mrs. Kenneth Frey will be in charge of flowers. Burial will be in Buckingham cemetery.
