MUNCIE--Mr. Robert L. Goetz, 86, died Wednesday night at his residence.
Mr. Goetz, who was born in Plainville, Kan., was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a meter reader for the former Indiana Michigan Electric Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1980.
He is survived by his wife of 61 1/2 years, Jessie M. Duncan Goetz, whom he married Sept. 10, 1941; two sons, Charles L. Goetz (wife: Alma) of Redkey and Bob L. Goetz (wife: Billie) of Elwood; three daughters, Janice Goetz McCreery (friend: John Bowers) of Parker City, Carol Goetz Brown (husband: Raymond) of Selma, and Virginia Goetz of Muncie; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Goetz was preceded in death by his parents, John Charles and Clemitine Porter Goetz; three brothers; a son-in-law, Robert E. McCreery; and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Military graveside committal services will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
