Our beloved mother, Teresa Jean Malone, passed away on Sunday, November 28th, surrounded by her family.

Teresa was born Sept 19, 1923 to Frank and Ethel Cearns in South Bend, Washington. She graduated from South Bend High School and attended nursing school in Seattle, Washington. Teresa married Richard Malone on May 25, 1946.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard; daughter, Laurie; grandson, James Hanson; great-grandson, Jordan Malone; sisters, Mary Jane and Mary Ann; and brother, Dave.

Survived by daughters, Kathleen Patterson, Sheila Johnson, Michelle Clark (Don Pro), Molly Jonas (Paul), Connie Longanecker (Gordon) and Estelle Malone; sons, Patrick, David (Carla), Frank (Deborah), and Michael; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Esther and Dorothy; brother, Jim; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A long time member of Assumption Church, Mom loved God and her family. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her kids and grandchildren, which was often.

Always shy and retiring, Mom went about in her own quiet way giving service to others; teaching adults to read through the Literary Society, sewing layettes for donation to St Joe's Nursery, all while raising her 11 active children, and usually one or two extras: their friends who needed a place to stay.

Mom was an avid reader who passed on her love of literature to all of her kids. She also loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Our mother was a very classy lady, never gossipy or judgmental. She was always there for us and was a loving, sweet presence in our lives that we could always count on. We love you Mom and will miss you forever.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 2nd at 10:30 AM at the Church of The Assumption. Please join the family for fellowship and refreshments at the home of Teresa's daughter, Michelle, at 3005 Eldridge Avenue, following interment.
