Elderly Woman Succumbs Early Wednesday A.M. Mother of local mortician. Services Held Friday Afternoon

Mrs. Laura Jane Fitzjohn, 88, resident at 209 W. Ann street, passed away early Wednesday morning after a severe illness of two weeks. She was tenderly nursed by Mrs. Cora Kimberly, with whom she has made her home for the past six years.

The deceased was born April 17, 1851 in Marshall, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Post. Her life's companion Moses Fitzjohn, passed away in 1898, when the family lived in Gratiot county near St. Louis. The following year Mrs. Fitzjohn came to Belding and had made this her home since, except for about ten years when she resided in Santa Cruz, Calif., with a daughter. She was the mother of four children, three daughters and one son: Mrs. Perry Heald, Belding; Mrs. Bert Post, Charlotte; Mrs. Charl Croft, Santa Cruz, Calif; Arthur J. Fitzjohn, Belding. All of whom survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Fitzjohn funeral home Friday afternoon at 2:30. Leo Youngman, a family friend and mortician, of Lakeview, will conduct the services. Rev. Lawrence Gibbs, pastor of the Free Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Greene cemetery.

Other survivors are two brothers, Edward Post of Charlotte and Herbert Post of Jackson; also 13 grandchildren and eight great
