Obit: Evening Gazette, Xenia, OH. Thursday, May 24, 1928: "CARL L. PETERSON REMOVED BY DEATH WEDNESDAY NIGHT - Carl Linton Peterson, 39, died at his home four miles southwest of Spring Valley at 8 o'clock Wednesday night after being ill two weeks of pneumonia. He was believed to be recovering and was expecting to sit up for the first time Thurdsay when a sudden relapse Wednesday night proved fatal. Mr. Peterson was born near New Burlington, June 22, 1888 and was married to Miss Bessie McKinney, March 1, 1910. She survives him with two children, Charles Alpheus and Cora Louise, both at home. He is also survived by a brother, Arch E. Peterson, Yellow Springs and two sisters, Mrs. Glenna Mills, WY., and Mrs. Mary Ross, Alabama, by his stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson, Xenia, and by two half brothers and two half sisters, Mrs. Vesta Hupman, Osborn, and Miss Grace Peterson, Xenia, and Donald and Seward Peterson, Xenia. He was a member of the Friends Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Bellbrook Cemetery."
