CHESAPEAKE - Shirley Lee Phelps, 59, of the 1100 block of Hughes Ave., died Sept. 13, 2001. A native of South Norfolk, she was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Phelps of the residence; a daughter, Cheryl P. Bucenell and husband Jon of Chesapeake; two sons, Curtiss L. Phelps and wife Michelle of Columbus, Ga., and Michael E. Phelps of Chesapeake; a sister, Phyllis Moore of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Brian Bucenell, Gabrielle Phelps and Shelby Phelps. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lillian Wilder and Curtiss Monroe Pierce.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by Dr. Kenneth Brackney. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. Family will receive friends at the residence. There will be no viewing or visitation.
